Come and experience the vibrant energy of Argentina's famous dance, as Symphony Chorus of New Orleans presents a mesmerizing performance of Martin Palmeri's MisaTango along with Dan Forrest's latest compositions. Join us on Sunday, October 29 at 2 PM in Academy of the Sacred Heart Nims Fine Art Center, where the talented chorus will be accompanied by a chamber orchestra.

This choral mass on tango sounds, created by the renowned Argentinian composer Martín Palmeri 20 years ago, is a unique blend of harmonics and syncopated rhythms that will leave you spellbound.
“Misatango, written in 1996, was little known until a 2013 performance in Rome, honoring the
elevation of Buenos Aires cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio as Pope Francis. Since then Misatango has taken off, becoming the hottest choral property of the past decade. We are delighted to present the regional premiere of this exciting piece,” said Steven Edwards, SCNO Music Director.
Dan Forrest has been described as having “an undoubted gift for writing beautiful music….that is truly magical.” He is the among the most popular and successful choral composers of his generation. SCNO performed his Requiem for the Living (2013) last season and is happy to present three of his recent works on our upcoming concert. Anthems of Love (2016), Boxes (2019) - an arrangement of a popular Goo Goo Dolls hit - and, i thank You God for most this amazing day (2018), a setting of the famous e. e. cummings poem.
Don't miss out on this unforgettable musical journey!
